Substitute Teacher (K-6)
Position Overview
Hardisty Community Charter School is a K–6 public charter school serving the Town of Hardisty and surrounding rural area. The school delivers the Alberta Programs of Study through an Entrepreneurial Learning Framework that develops leadership, resilience, financial literacy, and problem-solving skills, preparing students for success in their communities and beyond.
The Hardisty Community Charter School Association is seeking Substitute Teachers for Kindergarten to Grade 6 at Hardisty Community Charter School. This role involves providing classroom coverage in a small rural K–6 charter school, supporting student learning in multi-grade classrooms and maintaining a positive, structured learning environment aligned with the New Alberta Curriculum and an Entrepreneurial Learning Framework.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) preferred
- Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate (or eligibility)
- Strong classroom management skills
- Ability to work in K–6 multi-grade settings
- Flexible, reliable, and student-focused approach
Substitute Teachers may be assigned to any of four classrooms (K, 1/2, 3/4, 5/6) and are expected to support continuity of instruction and student engagement.
